Chalk Patch Shorts

I picked up these off-white pants for their soft feel and warm color. I took the waist from a 38 to a 32 and rebuilt them into long shorts with my signature wide-leg cut.

The fabric I cut from the legs went right back into the shorts as asymmetrical patchwork. I machine-stitched around the edges of each patch, leaving the centers free to lift slightly for a soft, almost padded feel. I finished them with small clusters of hand stitching for a little more texture up close.
